Windows 10 remote control extremely sluggish/slow/unresponsive

When remote controlling windows 10 machines, the response to a click can take 2-3 seconds before anything on the screen changes.  Sometimes longer and sometimes it doesn't' do anything at all.  Is there a way to fix this?

LDMS (10) 2016.3 and Windows 10 install

So I have been searching the community on a document detailing how to install the latest LDMS client console on a Windows 10 box. The compatibility matrix states it is supported, however when you go to install it, you receive a big red X during the installation of Data Analytics. Then if you go into the logs, and after digging for a bit you will find the logs associated with Data Analytics. In that log it states that .Net Framework 4.5 is required for install. Nonetheless, up to this point there was not a way to install the Console without error. I posted a while back (Can't install 9.6 SP1 console on Windows 10 64-bit ) about a workaround with the 9.6 installer detailing that you can update the setup.xml file to bypass the Data Analytics install. I have since figured out how to get Data Analytics to install successfully and thus finish the install. Please see the details below.

  1. Go to Start >> Run >> Regedit (Please make sure you do a backup of the registry prior to editing the registry)
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Client
    1. Right Click on Client and select permissions
    2. In the Permissions window that appears, click the “Advanced” button.
    3. wrp_2
    4. Next, you’re going to take ownership of the Registry key. In the “Advanced Security Settings” window, next to the listed Owner, click the “Change” link.
    5. wrp_3
    6. In the “Select User or Group” window, in the “Enter the object name to select” box, type the name of your Windows user account (or your email address if you have a Microsoft account) and then click the “Check Names” button to validate the account name. When that’s done, click OK to close the “Select User or Group” window and then click OK again to close the “Advanced Security Settings” window.
    7. wrp_4

    8. Back at the regular Permissions window, select the Users group and then choose the “Allow” check box next to the “Full Control” permission. If you prefer, you can just give your user account full permissions rather than the Users group. To do that, click the Add button, walk through the steps to add your user account to the list, and then give that account the Full Control permission. Whichever method you choose, click OK when you’re done to return to Registry Editor.

    9. wrp_5

  3. Next change the "Version" to 4.5.51209 (you will do this in 4 different spots, referring to the registry keys below) WRITE DOWN ITS CURRENT VALUE AS YOU WILL NEED IT LATER!
  4. You will need to repeat the steps 1-9 again for the following registry keys
    1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Client\1033
    2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full
    3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full\1033
  5. You can now run the install setup.exe from the LDMS 2016.3 folder
  6. Finally, once the installer has completed, you will need to change the "Version" back to what it was originally (this is the value you wrote down in step 3)

I really hope this helps others out there struggling to get this install on a Windows 10 machine. Hopefully now you can move from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Please let me konw if you have any questions or need clarification.

Windows 10 ja/nein?

Hi Leute,

Danke!

Gruß

Alex

Create a CI with an action in process?

Has anyone created this option in one of your processes? Have an action available which will be completed by an Analyst that would create a CI when the action is selected from the process and populate that CI with information entered in the submitted window of the process? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi community !

I am looking to add an action on CI object available from webaccess to launch an ldms inventory.

In OOTB some actions are possible like ssh, remote control or vulnerability scan however the basic one in my opinion is absent ( inventory scan)

.

Can someone tell me how can this could be achieved.

Many thanks

Have a nice day

Hope you can get me some new tipps.

Landesk remote: possible to spy on users without their knowledge?

$

Hello Community,

I have a few questions which you can hopefully answer easily. Googleing for an answer didnt give me any useful results.

I work at a company where Landesk is being used. Sometimes, for example when I need assistance from the IT Helpdesk they access my computer via Landesk remote access. I get a popup asking me if i want to allow access and when I click Yes thesy can use my computer remotly.

This is all ok, but I have the feeling that sometimes I am being accessed remotly whithout my allowance/interaction and someone is spying on me

I hope that doesnt sound to paranoid!

1) is it possible to access a computer with Landesk remote, while a local user is logged on and watch the screen without that user knowing it?

2) If yes, how can this be prevented by the user and how can the user notice when this remote spying happens? Can I monitor some ports or processes?

I have full local admin rights on my machine btw. and we run Win7.

Thanks for any useful answers.

Has there been any patch released from Ivanti for UVM or DataNow products to address the impact of Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities?

Dear customers and partners,

I am very sorry to announce yet another (albeit small) delay.

We found an issue at the last scheduled test run that could have impact on everyone running ExecuteEx and decided to fix this before releasing the product.

Thus the release of DSM 2017 is delayed to Wednesday this week (12/20/2017).

Kind regards

Landesk EPS - LDAV Kaspersky and Windows 10 Fall update 1709

Landesk EPS - LDAV Kaspersky and Windows 10 Fall update 1709.

We are finding that LDAV KAV is not compatible with Windows 10's Fall update (1709).

All clients upgraded to the Fall update have the LDAV/KAV crashing or consuming multiple cores for no apparent reason. It also marks all LDAV clients as "invalid keys or not activated" and when you look the logs, there are literally millions of entries with the same text:

ERROR: Failed to delete Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 Service Pack 1 Maintenance Release 3

We also tried building Windows 10 1709s from scratch and the behavior is the same.

  • C:\Program Data\LANDesk\Log creating new, 2MB ldav_install.X.log files at the rate of at least 8 per minute, rolling over after 8 (for a total of 8), each containing tens of thousands of repetitions of:
    1. Mon, 06 Nov 2017 08:26:55 ERROR: Failed to delete Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 Service Pack 1 Maintenance Release 3
    2. This is the only line in the file
  • C:\Program Data\LANDesk\Log creating new, 10MB ldav_update.X.log files at the rate of at least 8 per minute, rolling over after 8 (for a total of 8), each containing nearly a hundred thousand repetitions of:

    2. This is the only line in the file

Anybody else having this problem?

Is this another bug?

Thanks in advance.

Service Desk Integration with a Mobile Solution

We are currently implementing a Mobile Solution which can integrate both ways with Service Desk, this will be used by field based staff on-line and off-line, and have the capabilities of signature capture.

I am looking to use a web service to send information out of Service Desk, and API's to return info back into Service Desk.

I am developing processes to cater for these calls, so that both applications follow the same process.

However I have an issue, when I am trying to configure the webservice, I can connect to the url, however when I try and right click on the parameters field to load a xml template i don't get an option to.

This is something which I have never configured so in dark whats need to be setup at both ends. This is a screen shot of what I get.

High CPU Usage by ISSUSER.exe

On LD 9.6 SP1 client I'm seeing issues with ISSUSER.exe running at 100% of one core and sometimes faulting.

Once suggestion was to replace the jscript.v55 file, but that has not resolved the issue.

Looking at the application errors  in the diagnostic data in inventory I'm seeing the following

2015-05-29 16_20_06-Inventory - BRDROEDE3NKNWZ1 - __Remote.png

So it appears the LIBEAY32MT.dll is where it's faulting at with an exception code of c0000005

Any advice?

We get PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout when trying to pxe boot.

We have had this problem since I have worked here. When pxe booting, we will always get the PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout error. It will still continue on afterwards and allow us to image, but this slows down our imaging process and I am trying to get it as fast as we can because we are a very fast pace enviroment. Anybody had this issue and know how to resolve it?
